I have decided I quite like stamping over some marbled color as a quick -but pretty- mani. I panted my nails a light yellow and sponged some darker colors on top. I also tried to concentrate some subtle gold shimmer in some spots for some added interest. Pretty flowers on top and I'm good to go!
I haven't been posting very regularly lately. This is mostly because the fatigue has been kicking my ass in the past couple of weeks. Fingers crossed it's gonna be better now on!
But now it's time for something different. These are not my nails for once. My lovely roommate had been asking me to do her nails for ages, so this was long overdue. I let her rummage through my polish stash and all my nail art stuff and in the end she requested a black and white stamping mani with little poodles and bowler hats.
It was a lot of fun to do someone else's nails for a change and also a whole new challenge as Sandy has very small nail beds. It wasn't all easy on her side either, as the picture below shows.
It's hard to sit still for so long!
Bit of a nautical theme today, mainly because I really wanted to use this plate again! Well, I also wanted to try stamping only half of the nail and I've always thought this blue is wonderful... I guess it all just came together in this.
And it was super simple too! I put a bit of tape over about a third of the nails on my index finger and pink, then painted the rest of the nail white. I then took the tape off and while that dried painted the rest of the nails dark blue. I put the tape back on for the stamping, added some studs to the blue nails and that was all.
This one shows off the pretty metallic shine in the blue better. I'm also liking the rounded tips with this. It's been quite easy to maintain a decent length for one, but I also think it adds a bit of softness to the overall look. Less harsh angles and lines, I suppose.
Now all I need to do is dig up some gold rings and I'll look all sophisticated and fashionable and stuff!
I really wasn't ready to say goodbye to that gorgeous mint yet, so I decided to spice it up a bit with some stamping. Now it's totally ready for a couple of days more wear!
I used the Dashica stamping polish from this post and it's wonderful. It's super pigmented and really opaque and stamps really well. The plate is super fun too. So many different possible themes with it.
overall, today's mani is just simple but fun.
Better late than never~ Nothing better than sunny weather to show off a pretty duo chrome! (And even better if that duo chrome didn't cost you an arm and a a leg)
I've been a fan of Essence nail polishes for years now. They always have lots of colors available to choose from, with glitter and other special topcoats to combine them with and all of that for under two euros a bottle. I've only rarely been disappointed. I think I have about 20 bottles of their polish in my collection at the moment!
On my nails right now is number 173 Over The Rainbow. It's a light blue polish, nudging towards lavender, that flashes a bright turquoise or pinkish purple depending on the angle. It's pastel enough to be the perfectly sweet polish for spring, but the duo chrome makes it super fun and playful at the same time.
I had a lot of trouble getting the purple to show in the pictures on my nails (it's there, I promise!) so here's a picture of the bottle. A little bit dark, but the flashes show up well. Pretty, pretty, pretty!
I decided to add a stamp just on one nail, mainly because I was just itching to finally use it, haha. I used the Moyou Hipster Collection plate 08, which I mentioned in my first post on this blog. I really like some of the more abstract images on this plate, so I decided to use that.
I really like this polish, but what about you? Have you ever tried Essence nail polishes and what do you think of them? Or do you have a different go to budget polish brand? Tell me!
Exo themed nails! I'm gonna overdose on this song some time soon, seriously.
So I may or may not be a pretty big k-pop fan and Overdose came out a couple of days ago and I really, really like it and I just had to do Exo themed nails. I had to.
I'm actually a little bit on the fence for this one, though. I really wanted to do a planet/star kind of theme, because of the Exoplanet and outer space theme they had going on around their debut, but maybe I've overdone it a bit? I love how the logo came out, but I think the silver and the silver glitter nail may be a bit much. What do you think? Should I change it?
Well either way, I have had this song stuck on repeat for the past three days now and I have no problem with that at all. I'm pretty sure I still sing along with the chorus in my sleep, damn.
Everything is Exo and nothing hurts.
More green! I do really like green, not gonna lie. And then thinking of spring and warmer weather and well... this happened.
Okay, the fishes on my index finger are stamped upside down, shh... don't tell anyone.
I'm kinda fascinated by gradients at the moment. They're just so pretty and even if you do nothing else your nails already look all fancy!
I went for an ocean themed mani here, using this Moyou plate. I love these plates so much, the images always come out so crisp and detailed and this time was no exception.
I added the little sparkle on top mainly as a way to try it out, but I ended up liking the effect a lot. I had received this polish in a beauty box and I was just not sure what to do with it or if I even liked it at all. It reflects many different colors depending on the light, but a lot of the times it's blue (it kinda shows in the picture) so that made it work well with the colors and the overall theme.
I got more pretties in the mail! - Stamping themed haul from Dashica Beauty Shop.
Hi! My name is Saskia, I'm 26 years old and I have an obsession with nail polish, kitties and flamingos. I love pretty colors and I like to show off what's on my nails, so I talk about these things on here.
