This is the second part of the little OPI haul. You can find part one here. These are different finishes, but all very pretty. Let's go take a look, shall we? The last two in particular make me really happy!
I Vant to be A-Lone Star is from the Spring/Summer collection of 2011. It's a light grey with very fine and subtle silver shimmer. Opaque in two to three coats.
This pretty multichrome is Frog in My Throat. Supposedly this is better known as Just Spotted The Lizard? Either way, this polish is very thin and a little bit stripey, but the gold - green - blue color shifts make up for a lot. I couldn't keep my eyes off my hands! Three coats really made it pop.
Last, but most definitely not least, is The Glittering Night. It is a black base with two sizes of silver glitter. Two coats gave full coverage and lots of glitter. It's a little party on my nails!
Overall I'm very happy with these polishes and I think it was a great opportunity to try a brand that is normally too expensive for me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to stare at that multichrome on my nails some more. So yummy...
I have actually never owned an OPI polish before. That's right, never. There's a really good reason for this, though! Here in The Netherlands one bottle of OPI will set you back 15 euros (a little over $20) and that has kinda cooled my enthusiasm towards giving them a shot. Especially since I know it sells for much MUCH less in the US ;)
But then... there was a sale. Big Bazar was offering older colors for 3 for €10! So naturally, I came home with six, three cremes and three other finishes. Today I will be showing you the cremes.
Up first is Did It On 'Em from the 2012 Nicki Minaj collection. It's a yellowish lime that's very pretty and bright. It's a pretty thin formula, which I noticed with all of the OPI polishes, but it covers well. I'm wearing two coats in this picture and I love it!
Up next is Skin Deep, which is a light pink with a hint of nude. This one required three coats to be fully opaque, but that is perfectly acceptable for a color like this. This is the perfect polish for a subtle and sophisticated look.
I fell in love the moment I saw this one. Say hello to I Brake For Manicures, which the Internet tells me is from the Fall 2011 Touring America collection. This one was particularly difficult to photograph, as my camera was determined to make it come off as black and while this is a very dark color, it is definitely not black. I think I can best describe it as a dark plummy brown with grey undertones. A mouth full, I know, but it's a very interesting color and I can see myself wearing it all throughout fall. It looks so luxurious! Two coats was enough for a fully opaque look.
What I noticed with all of these is that the formula is very thin. This can be a bit tricky (I've had it run back into my cuticle), but once I adapted to that it was actually quite pleasant. I'm also very impressed by the wear. I wore one of the colors from the second batch (will be in the next post!) for five days without topcoat and I had no chips, just the tiniest bit of tip wear.
All in all I can definitely tell that these polishes are of a higher quality than the polishes I normally use. I still think fifteen euros is a LOT of money for one bottle of polish, though and I'm not planning on buying any full price. At three for ten euros though... you can count me in!

Hi! My name is Saskia, I'm 26 years old and I have an obsession with nail polish, kitties and flamingos. I love pretty colors and I like to show off what's on my nails, so I talk about these things on here.
I have ME/CFS. If you'd like to know more about that, feel free to ask me, or you can read more about it in English or Dutch.
