- Thin desired colors with acetone or polish thinner and paint them onto a white base.
- Sheer desired colors with some clear polish and paint them onto a white base.

In my search for the perfect method, I came across a Youtube channel called KiraKiraNail. This girl puts up tutorials inspired by Japanese nail art and I think everything she does is amazing. I watched a bunch of her videos where she did cut out nails and I really like that idea. Any form of negative space in nail art fascinates me to be honest. My ring finger here was my first try with that, but expect to see it more often in the future!
After I did the watercolor nails, I painted the rest in the polishes I had used and then finished it all off with a matte top coat. I sometimes forget how nice matte nails can be. Especially with the watercolor nails it was just perfect.
